Disneyland is the ultimate place for your children for fun, fantasy and an exciting time they will never forget and with the Disneyland Resort Paris being accessible to over 300 million people can fly there in less than two hours and approximately 60 million people may there with more than a 4-hour ride, it is a perfect destination for those living in Europe.Plans to build a Disney park in Europe were discussed only in the 1970s, the construction does not begin until the 1980s at the location on the outskirts of Paris, and it opened in 1992.There was no immediate success, hoping that the owners, but many years on the road, the Disneyland Resort Paris, one of the most popular holiday destinations in Europe and the complex extends to the Disneyland Park, with its five thematic areas and the Walt Disney Studios Park opened in 2002, takes it is a little imagination as to why it is so popular now you know!In the case of subjects, we found the Fantasy Land with Disney characters as Snow White and Mickey Mouse was a highlight for the young children especially the girls, but the boys loved Frontier Land, which has a Wild West theme and play it even reversed childhood memories, growing cowboys and Indians for adults who never seem to!Disneyland Paris is open every day of the year without exception and has a completely different feeling in the winter compared with summer, but every season you visit, be sure to find a lasting memory of the fantasy castle to the heart of the whole IG ParkThe Sleeping Beauty’s Castle or in French Le Chateau de la Belle au Bois Dormant is a truly magical sight that was inspired by the classic fairy tale illustrations, and not just on the basis of an authentic castle castle at Disneyland Florida and everyone loved it to the top of the dungeons, but for us it was a nice view from the balcony of the palace, where we have some other things that we wanted to find out who we had arranged to recognize us, was there to see more!Something that you will find, if at Disneyland Paris is the amount of different types of restaurants and snack offers a wide range of food and catering for every budget, and they are all on the matter from any part of the park will be developed. So, from sausages to pizza and Mexican to French cuisine, and sandwiches are cakes, pastries and ice cream is always about something that everyone can enjoy, but our favorite place to eat was the Cowboy Cookout, which in a barn and they had country bands on the meantime, while we were eating our BBQ chicken! But Disneyland Paris has so much open, as will one day be extended not really enough time to enjoy everything, so stick with one of the themes of the hotels can be a great experience in itself and with 7 hotels to choose a rustic home, one does, makes you feel not in a desert, they suit all budgets and do not blow up the other bank. But think about the cost, there are some great deals available at all other times of the year, including deals such as children under 7 years to get an extra night at the same cost, etc., so you do not need really big pockets to have, but make sure you have enough money for all these gifts, souvenirs, food and equipment that you know the kids begging, especially with the huge amount of fantastic shops on site! And you can not at Walt Disney Studios Park, be forgotten, which is another reason why we think you need more than a day here, so here you can also get a tour of a recording studio and view rock memorabilia with signed guitars on the display. The entire park has to offer many attractions for each age group, so apart from the amazing roller coaster, if you prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground so there are some great exhibitions of the famous Disney characters, plus there is a very good 18 -hole golf course and the Disney Village has many restaurants and shops open after the park closed, so you will never go out of places to visit and things to see and do.

Alsace is a region in the northeast of France. Alsace has through its history changed hands between Germany and France on several occasions. The local culture is distinct, and the region offers historic cities and castles, and interesting countryside. A popular itinerary is the Alsatian Vineyard Route – fabulous for walking from town to town trying a whole bunch of local wines.

Alsace also has some of the most beautiful cathedrals and churches in Western Europe. The stunning Strasbourg Cathedral is a unique example of a mix of roman and gothic architecture and has the peculiarity of having one tower only and of being built with pink Vosges gres.

Due to their tumultuous past history, Alsatians are extremely proud to be French and take great offence in being mistaken for Germans when they go overseas or inland France. You will not see more French flags on the streets of any other inland French cities. Alsatians have a very deep attachment to France even if the French Government has not always reciprocated. During WWII, all Alsatians men were sent by the Germans to the Russian front. Some boys managed to escape before being sent there and went to Paris to enrol in the French army. This act of courage however came at a dire price as the family of those “malgré nous” would often be killed or sent to concentration camps.

PLACE TO VISIT

River cruise on Strasbourg’s “Ill” canal

Ecomuseum of Ungersheim – were traditional houses from all over the region have been transferred into one place

Riquewihr Traditional Winemaking village

Cité de l’automobile – National Motor Museum – Collection Schlumpf

Discover the fantastic Fritz Schlumpf collection: Bugatti, Rolls Royce, Ferrari, Hispano Suiza. They’re all there, in an area covering 17,000 m², 400 exceptional cars from amongst the most famous. There are giant screens, simulators, reconstructions truer than real life, games.

Cité du Train – Visit the Cité du Train or French Railway Museum in Mulhouse. Through the 15,000 m² of the largest train museum in France, discover the history of French railway.

Where to stay:

1. Caesar Park Hotel – One of Rio de Janeiro’s most luxurious and expensive hotels, the Caesar Park boasts a fabulous location on the famous stretch of the Ipanema beach. All the hotel’s rooms are spacious and look great after a very recent renovation. They are equipped with bathtubs, a suit rack, and a well-lit workspace. The standard rooms are those from the 5th to 10th floor, looking out over the side street. The superior rooms also face the side but are located from the 11th floor up. The exquisite deluxe rooms provide a full ocean view which is breathtaking.

2. Excelsior Copacabana Hotel – A member of the famous Windsor Hotels chain, the very pleasant Excelsior is situated on a wide corner which offers excellent and unique ocean views. Rooms either have a side view superior) or a full ocean view. All of the hotel rooms are quite nicely furnished, spotless, and well maintained. The best rooms are the deluxe suites of course which take up the entire corner and offer both side and full ocean views. These suites also equipped with spacious bathrooms, a relaxing Jacuzzi tub, a flat screen TV and a comfortable king-size bed. The hotel also offers free local calls, free parking and an excellent breakfast buffet, what more could a visitor want?

3. Casa 6 – A small and clean hostel with quite a few private rooms, with shared or private cozy baths. It is on a very charming street with other hostels and boarding houses, and an easy walk to the beach, making it a perfect solution. The simple rooms get a lot of natural light and are very well maintained by the employees, and the owner has a wealth of information about the surrounding neighborhood. Although it is a quite pleasant spot, it is the location that draws most travelers here.

Where to eat:

1. Confeitaria Colombo – This establishment is the ultimate example of Rio’s sophisticated cafe culture reminiscent of Paris or Vienna. The huge and elegant space opens up to a canopy of stained glass that washes filtered light onto huge mirrors. Their dark, carved frames are of the same ornate style as the opulent wood-and-glass cabinets towering above the counters.

2. Doce Delicia – This colorful and modern restaurant is located in Leblon (with another branch at Rua Anibal de Mendonca 55, which is in Ipanema) and serves dishes like salmon in soy and ginger sauce, design-your-own salads (with ingredients like palm hearts and papaya) and quite tempting desserts like a chocolate mousse cake which is as delicious as it sounds.

3. Espirito Santa – This restaurant was opened recently in 2005, by the famous chef Natacha Fink which uses little-used indigenous ingredients like jambu root and graviola fruit to create a new and rather unique kind of Brazilian cooking. Some of the dishes include a filet of namorado (some sort of white fish), baked in a Brazil-nut crust and served over grilled fresh hearts of palm.

What to do:

1. Corcovado – Here you can spot the very famous Sugarloaf Mountain, the island-pocked Guanabara Bay and the breathtaking beaches outlining the coast like links of white sausages. Even better than this, you can make fun of the inevitable sightseer aping the statue’s outstretched arms for a photo. “Turistas chatos” means “annoying tourists” in Portuguese, should that phrase come to mind when in the near vicinity of that area.

2. Blue Man – This store sells sungas which is the Brazilian version of the famous American Speedo. Its bathing suits tend to be on the more provocative side and the stores’ other offerings make it easier to show it all off. Bill Clinton and Anthony Hopkins made headlines when they bought bikinis there back in 2001, although it was not clear for whom they purchased them.

Tumbao do Malevo – This open-air bar is situated under a tree canopy. It is not uncommon to see its patrons, still sandy from the beach, sampling fresh fruit caipirinhas while a group of musicians played mournful, shuffling chorinho music. You won’t find this anywhere else in Rio de Janeiro.

Traveling Europe by train is perhaps one of the most engaging ways to take a vacation or holiday. From fascinating mountain peaks to meandering rivers of pristine waters to lush, green landscapes, your journey by train takes you to sites that you will never want to leave except for the knowledge that each leg of the journey continues the experience. As the scenery sweeps past you in its amazing splendor, the power of the train and of the journey itself energizes you to a new level of awareness.

As if this experience of viewing the wonder of nature isn’t enough, each time you stop to visit one of the fascinating cities on the itinerary, you will get another eyeful of attractive architecture, intriguing historical monuments, and charming scenery. From castles to churches to political buildings to monuments to village homes, the sights you see will make your time go by so quickly that you will find yourself wishing you had booked a longer train journey.

An earful of stimulating dialogue goes along with everything you see showcasing historical facts and detailing interesting trivia. You’ll also get a mouthful of savory cuisine at meal times that lingers not only on the tip of your tongue but also in the inner recesses of your memories. If the sights and sounds don’t lure you to come back again, surely the delightful aromas wafting through each town will entice you to return by rail again.

The European train network is amazing in its extensiveness that allows it to cover more than twenty gorgeous countries and over five hundred exciting cities. Just think of all of the fun you can have taking one train vacation after another throughout the years. From short jaunts to longer ones and luxury train travel to budget trips, traveling Europe by train is the best way to go.

Booking Train Travel

Booking train travel is one of the simplest parts of this grand adventure. All you need to know is where you would like to go, how long you would like to travel Europe by train, and how you are going to pay for this magnificent journey through some of the most wonderful cities and landscape in the world.

You even get to pick whether you will sleep on the train indulging in the soft comfort of a luxurious stateroom or step off to the delightful accommodations at an elegant European hotel. If you elect to sleep on the train, you will get the pleasure of waking up in a completely new location. The entire journey is planned for you according to the specific train travel you select. Guided tours provide a mix of pleasure, fascination, camaraderie, and education all in one exciting package.

The length of the average train tour typically falls somewhere between seven and eleven days. However, a number of lengthier jaunts ranging form 2 to 4 weeks are available for the true train aficionado. Plus, for those high-powered individuals who simply can’t pull themselves away for longer than two to four days, a number of adventurous train journeys are accessible throughout the year. Shorter train journeys will be less expensive and therefore more affordable to the budget. However, for the true train lover, several shorter train trips throughout the year might be more rewarding than a single longer rail journey.

Frommer’s Travel Guides

Frommer’s travel guides offer an easy, user friendly method for selecting your first, second, or one in a long line of many train travel packages. You can search this comprehensive guide by location or area such as Western Europe, Eastern Europe, South Eastern Europe, etc. Plus, Frommer’s travel guides break it all down into cultural events, attractions, restaurants, and a whole lot more.
In addition to highlights of European locations, you can peruse through articles, tips, and facts concerning just about anything you want to know about train travel.
Popular Combination Train Packages

While the sheer number of available train travel packages is staggering, some combinations of stops have become quite popular. If you look at the destinations includes, you will understand why. In particular, rail packages to the following spots are often booked in advance or to full capacity: Many combination trips that include several destinations have special tours designed specifically for those cities. Some of the more popular ones include the following: London, Paris, and Amsterdam; London, Paris, and Nice; Madrid, Cordoba, and Seville; Rome, Paris, and London; Florence and Rome; and Venice, Florence, and Rome.

Many train tours focus on a specific area of a country. Both the Classic European Tour and the Central European Tour do this. These are great tours for travelers who can’t quite pinpoint the places they want to see and experience.

Packing for European Train Travel

Packing for train travel is no different than packing for most other forms of travel. You simply need to pack appropriate clothing, your medications, passport, traveler’s checks or credit cards, and personal essentials such as camera and binoculars. Both the staterooms in the train and any hotel accommodations will provide all the basics and more. Of course, your train travel package will determine how luxurious your accommodations are, thereby affecting the amenities that you are offered.

Why a Train?

Trains have a fascinating history of their own. Train travel is exciting with the sun dipping below the horizon that greets you from your window. Plus, panoramic landscapes filled with wildlife and lush flora present colorful displays that will keep you from nodding off. If you don’t believe it, take a train journey and discover the joy of the rails for yourself.
