Travel Videos - Airlie Beach, Irish Backpacker, Australia

Traveling in a group? You are the holiday packagers dream! Imagine being able to offload bulk airline seats, rail passes and entertainment packages in one booking. A group traveling is a wanted commodity and because of this you can secure great deals for your group. But as always, beware of any hidden ‘extras’ such as cancellation policies and preferred partners when stepping outside the package. Be prepared to shop around for the best deal.

Here are some tips for the traveling group on a budget:

1. Travel insurance can be bought through some companies where savings can be ten percent or more. A group usually consists of four or more. Contact a number of travel insurance agencies and compare quotes.

2. Pack as many people as you can into your hotel room (keeping it legal). The more heads in the room, the higher the number to divide the cost by.

3. Renting a car when traveling in a group of four is usually cheaper than buying travel passes – and more convenient.

4. Food, guidebooks, taxi fares can all be split between the group bringing costs down.

5. Rail passes for groups or pairs may find discount offers in some countries.

6. Some airlines offer discount rates to groups of ten or more traveling together.

7. Group package bookings that have everything included in the price will have all expenses covered so you won’t be surprised by any extra costs, apart from shopping!

8. Discount holiday packages for large groups of travelers are offered through a number of travel agencies. Sports fans may be able to travel to big events using one of these travel packages for much cheaper than organizing it on their own.

If you want to join a group tour so you don’t have to travel alone consider all the pros and cons. Will there be like-minded people? Is there any flexibility to the travel arrangements? If not, will this outweigh the savings you’ll make on joining the tour? Some travelers like the convenience of all the travel arrangements being made for them. Group tour operators will find the best fares and reputable places to stay in. This saves you the hassle but it may mean that some of the cultural experiences you want will have to be put aside for the relatively cheaper ride.

Traveling in a family group can also benefit from a number of offers. Inform your booking agent that it is a family and ask about any special offers or deals. Can you visit any amusement parks or tourist attractions at family discount rates?

When traveling in a group, never be afraid to ask for a discounted rate. Everyone involved in the tourism trade is looking to get large numbers on seats or through doors. Groups are welcomed and catered for accordingly.

Travel Video DVD’s www.overlander.tv Airlie Beach (pop. 3029) Airlie Beach, gateway to the Whitsunday islands has a reputation for being a great place to party, in between sailing trips to the islands. Another must stop location on the backpacker migration up north. Had a ball in Airlie, went out on a boat yesterday to snorkel the reef. The colours of the coral and the diversity of the fish life just blew me away. Thanks to Jetstream for the trip. Also checked out the Barefoot Bushmans …

What travel documents does an International student need to travel within Canada?
Hi,
I am an International student in Toronto and would like to fly to Vancouver for a couple weeks. I wanted to know if my passport is sufficient ID for me to travel on. I received an extension on my study permit but have lost it. Will that be a problem?

Thank you very much.

  3. SpaceTime is the 4th Dimension
The faster you travel through it the faster time passes by.
Curving spacetime causes time to slow down
Earths mass effecting spacetime causing a curve
    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/22/Spacetime_curvature.png
But in reality it is 4D so the curve is more like this:
    http://img506.imageshack.us/img506/5015/spacetimelu3.jpg

The time in empty space travels faster than time on Earth due to Earth causing a curve in spacetime

Its like this the curve means more space for something to travel across ie time where as a smooth spacetime takes less space for something to travel across like someone running across a valley while another runs across a flat surface.
Traveling faster is like running faster than someone else you will get to the finish line before them ie travel faster in space youll be in the future before the time you would if you went slower.

  4. You divide the numer of miles travelled by the number of hours and the result – the constant of variation – is 3.66 (recurring) miles per hour.

  5. No you can not travel to Europe with a US refugee travel document. You would have to have a passport. Just having a refugee document won't be enough. No European country will accept this document.

  6. The travel writing industry is a very hard one to break into.

If you have good background credentials, especially in writing/journalism, it doesn't hurt to try. Apply with National Geographic or Lonely Planet. They're both good companies.

  7. god she’s so posh.. and how does working in a pub give you an idea of what the locals are like? they’re always pissed and loud. horrible.

  8. i love ireland.

  9. About 3 days between leaving an orbit around Earth and settling into an orbit around the moon.

After launch on Saturn V SA-504 on July 16, 1969 from pad 39A of Kennedy Space Center, Apollo 11 entered Earth orbit. After 1 1/2 Earth orbits, the S-IVB stage was re-ignited at 16:16:16 UT for a translunar injection burn of 5 minutes, 48 seconds putting the spacecraft on course for the moon. The CSM separated from the S-IVB stage containing the LM33 minutes later, turned around and docked with the LM at 16:56:03 UT. About an hour and 15 minutes later the S-IVB stage was injected into heliocentric orbit. During translunar coast a color TV transmission was made from Apollo 11 and on July 17 a 3-second mid-course correction burn of the main engine was performed. Lunar orbit insertion was achieved on July 19 at 17:21:50 UT by a retrograde firing of the main engine for 357.5 seconds while the spacecraft was behind the moon and out of contact with Earth. A later 17 second burn circularized the orbit. On July 20 Armstrong and Aldrin entered the LM for final checkout. At 18:11:53 the LM and CSM separated. After a visual inspection by Collins, the LM descent engine fired for 30 seconds at 19:08 UT, putting the craft into a descent orbit with a closest approach 14.5 km above the moon's surface. At 20:05 the LM descent engine fired for 756.3 seconds and descent to the lunar surface began

  11. actually if you only considered time dilatation due to gravity, the clocks on earth would be slower than clocks on a spacecraft which is not in the gravity well of earth

However in this case, time dilation due to speed will be present so the net effect will be that the clocks on the spacecraft will be slower than that on earth.

Escape velocity from earth is 11.186 km/s. Lets be generous and say the space ship can go 10x that. Using the calculations from the website below, time dilatation factor would be 1.0000000696110642 times slower. If i calculate correctly, you lose 2 point something seconds a year

  12. annoying but nice cans though…

  13. Roysh roysh….doing the loike…year in Oz roysh…ohmigod..just like sooooooo sunny roysh.

    Got this girl is irritating!

  15. Well, you should replace your documentation for your study permit but to travel within Canada you will probably not need it. To fly within Canada you have to be able to prove who you are which, under Transport Canada regulations, you must have a valid piece of government issued photo ID which a passport is. For a complete list you can check the Transport Canada website (link below)

  16. OMG Like totally!
